Common Questions

General Questions

  • As of 2025, I have made the decision to no longer offer resin preservations. If you’re interested in booking a resin preservation project, please check out my list of personal artist recommendations here!

  • As a fulltime scientist with hobbies and a need for personal time/work-life balance, I prioritize being very upfront about my project schedule.

My turn around can range anywhere from 8-12 months before you receive your keepsake(s) back. However, our goal going into the 2025 season is to reduce the turn around time to 6-8 months.

  • Ideally, as soon as possible. I recommend booking at least 3-6 months in advance, if not earlier. I accept bookings about a year in advance. Since I am a small company, the volume of orders I can accept is very small. Therefore, I do tend to book up. I am very flexible with payment plan options, so if you know you want me to preserve your flowers, do not wait to secure your spot! Even if it is a last minute booking, I still encourage you to inquire! If I have availability for your flowers, I will accept them!

  • First, I require that you fill out my inquiry form in as much detail as possible. This is so I can identify if your florals are a good fit for my services. I also currently require that you select a main frame in tandem with a $100 deposit and a contract signature. The exception to this rule is for memorial flowers.

  • Yes, absolutely! I understand that weddings are expensive and as such I aim to be as flexible as possible. No matter if you book your preservation 3 months or an entire year in advance, I can offer you a payment plan no matter what!

  • Yes, I do! However, I am narrowing down my services to Columbus, OH and specifically the Midwest. Due to my commitments as a full time scientist, I am not able to receive fresh florals during the weekdays, which is when most out of state bouquets are delivered. For this reason, I encourage you to look in your state for preservationists before inquiring with me. If I am available for an out of state bouquet, then about a month before your event you will receive an email with very detailed shipping instructions to ensure your flowers arrive in good condition!

Pressed Floral Questions

  • I do. However, I want to emphasize that it is subject to my discretion and not offered for the majority of flowers. I really love the natural changes that happen to your flowers as they go through the preservation process, so please know that color correction is already built into my pricing and usually only applies to white and light pink roses. Since these flowers lose their color within 3-6 months, my goal is to enhance the flower’s original color. What this means is, though I am aiming to restore the flower’s original color, I will not do so at the cost of losing those small details like the flower’s veins or natural texture. I do not want your flowers to look painted. So your white petals will go from a light brown to a creamy white and pink petals will go from a light brown (yes, they fade to brown) to a pale pink.

  • Your flowers may change colors as they are pressed. Once pressed, they will still continue to undergo changes and the most obvious change is the change in their color. Over time, your flowers will fade. Some flowers fade faster or a lot slower than others depending on the flower type, the flower’s genetics and especially the natural color. I truly love this aspect and embrace that although they are preserved in a beautiful arrangement, your flowers are still organic matter that change with time. However, every frame includes ArtGlass to preserve the color for as long as possible. Please see my ‘materials’ FAQ for more information.

  • While very beautiful, these bouquets are difficult to press because they are both prone to browning during the pressing process. In addition, it is important to know that these flowers age significantly faster than colorful flowers. White flowers like roses come out of the press as an ivory color with undertones of toffee brown.  Over time, these flowers will show signs of aging and continue to turn more and more brown. It is important to know this fact regardless of the preservation company you work with! Although I do offer color correction, I do not specialize in creating various tones of white or cream. Therefore, all white color corrected flowers blend together in a frame without additional color, greenery or fillers. Pink flowers undergo a similar transformation. For these reasons, I choose not to work with these classic bouquets.

  • I will always try to press every flower that is in your bouquet. A few flowers that are more tricky are tropical flowers like anthuriums, monstera leaf, ginger as well as other accents like hypericum berries and succulents. I am always experimenting with new pressing techniques so even if you do have any of these flowers in your bouquet, I will still attempt to press them.

  • You will choose the size of your frame when you initially book with me. This is because the number of flowers needed for an 18” x 24” frame is much different than that of an 11” x 14” frame. All other details as far as wood choice and orientation are chosen when it is almost time to work with your flowers! Don’t worry, I will reach out to you when I need these details!

  • Since I am always juggling many different parts of life and this business, you will not receive updates on your flowers until it is time to work on your project. You will receive 1/2 automated emails that provide more information on what I do with your flowers while they are in the queue. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or bandwidth to provide frequent updates. However you are always more than welcome to send me an email to ask for an update on my progress.

  • I use a handful of high quality glues to reconstruct and glue your flowers depending on the flower type, thickness, color, etc. For my pressed floral frames, I choose to use ArtGlass for every frame. ArtGlass reduces 99% UV and reduces the reflection up to 8%. This will help reduce the rate at which your flowers fade. Additionally, every pressed floral frame is custom made by hand right here in Columbus, OH by a local woodworker! So not only are you supporting my business, you are supporting theirs!

  • The short answer is no, because their preserved form will take a shape of its own. Your flowers will experience a handful of changes as they go through the preservation process. But, I believe these changes are part of the flower’s natural life cycle and as such I embrace these quirks and “love spots” as I stumble upon them. If you’re wondering what these changes may include, browse some of my other FAQ’s for more info!
